Few another century! I rode 104 miles today… on a BIKE. I felt really good in the morning. We started the day on a shaded bike path. No cars, flat, and in the shade… a bikers paradise. We had so much fun singing the entire time.
We stopped for our 1st lunch in Blue Ball Ohio. Enough said. I pace lined most of the next 20 or so miles, then it started to get a little hilly. We thought we missed the sign for Indiana so we stopped and asked this elderly woman who was mowing her lawn where Indiana was. She looked at us kinda funny then pointed to a sign about 30 feet away.
Since there was no sign for Ohio we all turned around and took a picture with the sign that was facing the other way. Then we took a picture with the Indiana state line. Their sign was pretty weak. Just a small green sign that says “state line”. Almost as bad as the one for Jersey.
There was the awkward space in between the Ohio and Indiana state lines. So we decided that it would be called Christinaville.
About 300 feet after we left the Indiana line we saw the real sign… which was much better then the one we took pictures with.
Second lunch was about 5 miles later in a parking lot. We left lunch and then the hills began again. Thanks a lot Indiana. But they weren’t so bad after about 10 miles. Once they ended I felt really good, not tired at all. So I b-lined it to the host site. I rode for about 12 miles by myself through flat farm land. I was going about 20 mph singing Baby got Back whole time. Which was pretty good considering that I had already ridden 90 miles. (not the song but the pace)
Once I got to the Church they had Gatorade and cookies waiting for us. SO AMAZING. The church was really nice and they food was so good! The town was tiny but really cool.
