Columbus to Yellow Springs 60 miles

Finally the flat Ohio that we have all been waiting for! I felt really good this morning and we hauled all the way to lunch. The road was very flat and pretty much straight through corn and soy bean fields for about 10 miles. Then we hit a bike path which was awesome because there were no cars.

We had lunch along the bike path under this covered pavilion. A couple of the riders who were from the Columbus area had there parents bring food, which meant that we had more then just PB&J! Might not sound like a big deal…. But to us it rocks!

The next 25 miles were all on the bike path…. Again awesome. But it did get a little bit hot. The last 5 miles were on country roads into town. I was one of the first people into the host site, once we got there the hosts shuttled us to their houses to shower. It was probably the best shower in forever. Clean, hot, a fluffy towel, and they even had snacks for us after!

The town was really cute. Sorta stuck in the 60’s. After dinner they took us to Youngs Dairy Bar, a really famous ice cream place. They have their own cows and make everything in house. After ice cream I had to do laundry. Put on my new tires then off to bed!
