Springfield to Joplin 81 miles

Today was awesome, such a short ride compared to the last few days. The terrain wasn't really that hard. Mostly just rolling hills and flat. The wind started to pick up a little bit but it wasn't too bad.

About 30 miles into the ride we rode by a tractor show. Yes a tractor show, what else would people be doing on a Saturday morning? So we decided to stop and I ended up participating in some of the events. They had tractors pushing an empty barrel through a course and Caroline and I got on our bikes and did it. We ended up actually beating some of their times!

After some pictures we rode off to lunch which was bout 10 miles down the road. We had lunch at a Harold's tree nursery. We talked with Harold and his wife for a while and then hit the road again.

When we left lunch this french guy on a bike started riding with us. Turns out he is going from Chicago to California. But didn't really speak that much english... We stopped at Wendy's about 15 miles out to get some shade.

Once we got to the host I helped make a make shift slip and slide and we all had so much fun cooling off. We are staying at a Methodist Church tonight that is so big! They a couple computers that we can use which is awesome.

As we enter the west my cell phone reception is going to start to dwindle so I may not post as much. But I will do my best!!!
