Had a real bed to sleep in last night.... With a real pillow! Woke up at 4:30 and packed my bags quickly. Grabbed a danish from the buffet and then mom and I drove to the host.
I got there as everyone was waking up and just sat around for a while. Had more breakfast and then we all pedaled off. The head wind was crazy for the first 10 miles. And then it turned into a cross wind.
We rode up and down for a while and had a sweet descent into first lunch at a gas station. I had a little wipe out in some gravel, I'm ok though just a little scratched up.
On the ride to second lunch we passed through the town Billy the kid was from. It was pretty cool. After that we started to notice the altitude change. We went up 3400 feet and maxed out at about 7000 feet total. My legs weren't tired, but we were all out of breath.
Had second lunch at a little grocery store. The rest of the ride was all downhill from there. It was so pretty going down and looking back at all of the mountains that we climbed today.
Tongiht we are staying in a tiny tiny town at the high school.
