Grand Canyon to Ash Fork 80 miles

This morning was so much fun! We all woke up, got ready, and joked around. Trailer crew cleaned out the entire trailer before they packed it. The people camping next to us were singing and playing guitar.

We headed out and it was so pretty leaving. No one was really up or on the roads. Right outside of the park there must have been a forest fire because it was so smokey.

The first 30 miles were down hill and we flew. We stopped at the gas station that we had stopped at two days ago. Since the canyon was a detour we had to back track.

We had lunch at a horse ranch on the side of the road. The next 20 miles after lunch were so hard. It was all up hill and started to get really hot.

But we made it to this little town that was famous for its pie. We stopped at a diner got some pie and enjoyed the ac. The pie was pretty good and we all felt energized.... And full.

The last 20 miles was all down hill. You could have almost not pedaled. We ended up going down about 2000 feet. Tonight we are staying at a school. When we got here though we found out that today was the kids first day back from summer vacation. So there were kids walking through the halls as we brought our bikes in.

I unpacked and re packed my bag to try and organize things. We had dinner, family meeting, showered and now time for bed pretty soon!

Big day tomorrow!
