Whoohoooo my first post!!!
This summer I will be riding my bike from Boston MA all the way to sunny Santa Barbara CA. I will be riding with Bike and Build, a non-profit organization which organizes 8 other trips like mine. I am super excited for the trip and getting a chance to see the country in somewhat of an unconventional way.
We will be riding across the great U S of A to raise money and awareness for affordable housing. Along the way we will stop and help out with local Habitat for Humanity projects. In order to participate we each have to raise $4000, which will be donated to Habitat.
Six days a week, my group and I will be biking an average of about 70 miles a day. Once we arrive in the town, we give presentations to the locals about how they can contribute to affordable housing. A lot of money, as well as awareness, is raised this way. The other day of the week, we grab our hammers and help out at Habitat construction sites.
